Yagi Yuna was born in 1980. She graduated from the School of Architecture at Parsons School of Design in New York. After working at architecture firms in New York and Berlin, she is currently based in Kyoto.
Working primarily with photography, Yagi creates works that promote consciousness transformation from multiple perspectives through the experience of the act of “seeing.” Her notable solo exhibitions include “The Record of Seeds,” which weaves together the fragility and richness of life inherent in seeds (KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival 2021), “NOW/HERE” (Pola Museum Annex, 2018), and “The Bias/Ubiquity of Vision/Sight” (√K Contemporary, 2022). Her major works include “KENCHIKU” (2015), “Collapsing World” (2016), “Space of Prayer” (2017), “BLANC/BLACK” (2019), and “Superposition” (2024). Major awards include Best Portfolio Review at Kyoto International Photography Festival (2016) and nomination for the New Artist Award at the 35th Higashikawa Awards (2019). Her work is held in the collection of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.
